Welcome to The Matrix...

The Pushup Matrix!

What is this?

This is red pill fitness. A way to build actual, real strength. Not the nonsense spewed by charlatans.

You take the blue pill... The story ends, and you believe the snakeoil dickheads, the bloated drug monkeys and whatever else you want to believe about training. You take the red pill... You'll see your real potential, you'll see how deep the rabbit hole goes.

~ Fitness-Morpheus (probably)

The dinosaurs of the "fitness industry" (yuck, btw) are stuck in a 2D mindset, lifting like elevators - they only understand comfortable up and down. "Sit in this little machine and lift your leg", or "hold like this and curl your noodle arm up and down". Let the ideas of the dinosaurs become fossilized! You will attack from the future in a 3D way. The way to begin your journey is through pushups!

Will you be a 3D red piller from the future or stick with the dinosaurs?

What should I do?

See if you can do 10 perfect pushups. Your instructions:

Every rep. No cheating. You're only cheating yourself.

This is the halfway nonsense most of you've been doing. Pure blue pill.

Not a rigid plank. A weird spine exercise perhaps suitable for contortionists.

This is full range. Yes, hump that floor! And be stiff doing it.

If you can't - practice until you can. When you get 10 perfect reps, you're ready to...

Go 3D and enter The Matrix! Put your hands shoulder width apart as in a regular perfect pushup - this is the start squares. From that position move them to where the white rabbit tells you without moving the rest of your body. Do pushups from there. Every other square is approximately one widely spread palm further away.

Don't get it?

How many reps should I do?

Test yourself! 1 set to failure. Only perfect reps.

A perfect rep means your chest is touching the ground, you come to a full lockout, and the body is rigid like a plank... Every rep.

If you get less than 10 perfect reps you need to practice with many sets not taken to failure for at least 1-3 weeks.

If you get 10 reps do another pushup. There are 36 combinations, master them all and you're on your way to greatness. But remember no matter how difficult it may seem: this is only the beginning!

Why is this page so weird?

It's not weird, you're boring... Like most of the web for the past 20 years. Glob forbid we make something a little fun instead of sterile corporate designs filled with entrepreneurial gaga.
