Where am I and who are you?

That’s a question I ask myself on a daily basis too.

I started this website to share original content for the serious trainee, coach and sportsman. My intention is to share information, void of embedded advertisement and sensationalist unproven fads while going a bit deeper than “just squat, bench and deadlift, bro”.

What do I mean by serious trainee, coach or sportsman? While you will find information for beginners, much of what I will share is aimed for those who’s been in the game for a while, whether it weightlifting, powerlifting, crossfit, running, [insert your sport here] or just lifting weights. Still, I find it counterproductive to neglect the beginner and aspiring crowd – we were all beginners at one point.

What do I mean by going deeper into the topics? While “just get stronger” is fair advice to a certain person, it doesn’t really say much. There are many types of strength and many ways to “just get stronger”. I’m also against the idea that all paths lead to the same place. While many paths are worth exploring, you’re not certain to end up where you want to be if you randomly pick one. A weightlifter shouldn’t train like a crossfitter or a bodybuilder or a fireman or someone doing roller derby. To find the correct path we need to look at the science of biomechanics and physics, we need to look at proven methods for the particular scenario we’re in and we need to apply logic to it. That’s going deeper.

Who am I? I’m a trainer based on planet Earth who ocassionally help train people in Bulgaria at the Vanev Academy. I’ve trained medalists in several different sports but my main occupation is as a powerlifting and weightlifting coach. I’ve made a point of always learning from the best, including but not limited to Ivan Abadjiev (may he rest in peace), Zlatan Vanev and Boris Sheiko. For years I’ve studied the different systems for strength- and speed training. Seeing all the information that’s out there I will hazard a guess that I’ll continue to do so for the rest of my life. Here on this website I intend to share some of my findings with you.

In the end the answer to the question in the title of this post is: you’re at everlifting.com and I’m just like you – mostly made of star stuff.
